Autism Speaks

Hey bloggers. Well that autism walk i mention in other entries is upset some of my friends. I should of mentioned this when it was on my mind but i was bored so i wanted to write something in my blog. Well one day on a conference call i mentioned about my walk I will be going on the 16th. They were all like oh no what is for? What does it sponsor? Well i got the folder off my kitchen table and read it to them. I said oh its for Autism Speaks. I didn't know much about Autism Speaks neither does my mom. When i even mention Autism Speaks to some of my friend they flip out and i mean FLIP OUT! Like its the end of the world! They act as if Autism Speaks is some Nazi concentration camp! First of all Autism Speaks does NOT want to kill autistic people. Second of all everyone needs to stop being paranoid and making me feel guilty about it! We already made plans to go anyways. My mom's co-worker told her about it. His son has autism too. They are going to the walk. So I'll maybe get to meet his son. Anyways another thing they say if the technology was around when i was born i would of be aborted!! My friends say they would abort there autistic children. First of all its not Autism Speaks choice it is the parents and second of all my mom said even if the technology WAS around then she would NOT abort me!!! So yea i don't see what my paranoid friends problems are. I mean i one friend who was like when you go be careful please? "Be cautious!" "It may be dangerous" I kid you not! Really! Sad isn't it? So yea I'm still going and all because i go doesn't mean Ill be some different person. Ill be the same person i ever was....... I just hope they understand that. I'm not for or against curing autism. Really its up to others not me. So really its not gonna do any harm if i go. We are going to help raise money, maybe meet some other auties, and get out of this house. Really anything is better then sitting in the house all day every day.........
